Procedure for Submitting Documents for a Residence Card

The collected package of documents is submitted in person or through an authorized person to the relevant Uzhond. If all documents are completed correctly, a red stamp will be placed in your passport during the application registration.

After registering the application, the inspector checks all documents, assessing their relevance, correctness of filling in and compliance with the information provided. Additionally, your identity is checked in state registers.


Your personal data is transferred to the following structures:
Polish Police; Border Guard; Polish Security Service (ABW). In some cases, the inspector may check whether you actually live at the address indicated in your application.

If all checks are passed successfully and there are no comments, the inspector prepares a decision on the issuance of a Residence Card.
After that, the director of the Uzhond signs the decision, and it enters into force.

You will receive an official notification by mail or you can check the status of your case on the voivodeship website.

After signing the decision, the production of a plastic Residence Card takes about a month. Before receiving the card, you will be required to submit fingerprints.
