Appeals Against Negative Decisions
Support with Appealing a Rejection Decision
Have you received a negative decision regarding your residence permit, work permit, or another legalization document? Not all is lost! In many cases, it is possible to successfully appeal the decision – as long as the appeal is submitted correctly and on time.

When Can You Appeal?
You have the right to appeal in the following cases:
- Refusal to issue a residence permit (temporary, permanent, or long-term EU resident),
- Refusal to grant a work permit,
- Rejection of the citizenship application,
- Withdrawal of residence or work documents,
- A decision ordering you to leave the territory of Poland (obligation to leave Poland).
You have 14 days from the date the decision is delivered to file your appeal.

What NOT to Do After Receiving a Rejection
Don’t panic – a negative decision is not the end.
Don’t delay – you only have 14 days to appeal!
Don’t write the appeal on your own if you’re unsure – formal errors can harm your case.
What Happens If a Foreigner Fails to Fulfill Their Obligations?
If a foreigner does not meet the legal requirements, the office is obliged to issue a negative decision regarding their stay.
This can lead to removal from the country and even deportation proceedings.
Most Common Reasons for Rejection:
✔Late submission of documents,
✔Incomplete or incorrectly filled forms,
✔Missing required attachments,
✔Unclear employment or housing status.
